Westex has been designing and manufacturing carpet in West Yorkshire — the heart of Britain’s wool and textile country — for over 40 years, founded in 1977 by a master dyer. That origin still defines the brand: Westex is renowned above all for colour. They run their own dye houses and offer a special dye service that can match almost any shade, so if you have a particular colour in mind, a Westex carpet can be made to it. Quality is built into the construction. Westex spins its yarn in 2-fold and 3-fold twists, which adds strength and resilience and resists the crushing and pile reversal that makes cheaper carpets look tired quickly. The carpets are double-cropped for a smooth, fine finish, made from wool-rich 80% wool, 20% nylon blends and 100% pure new wool, and finished with stain-resist, anti-dust-mite and mothproof treatments. It’s the kind of carpet found in stately homes — Westex famously carpeted the Royal Yacht Britannia — made to last in a real family home.

Velvets — Westend Velvet, a softer-spun 80/20 wool velvet with rich colour; Silken, Prestige and Exquisite Velvet for varying levels of indulgence; Pure Luxury, a 100% pure new wool velvet; and Elysian Velvet, a hard-wearing man-made velvet using Westex’s SilkTex technology.
Natural loops and textures — wool loop and textured ranges including Cable, Sawley (a 100% wool herringbone), Eskdale and Derwent — plus the Fired Earth by Westex collection, with shades colour-matched to popular Fired Earth paint colours.
