Most people arrive knowing roughly what they want and leave having changed their mind about at least one room, usually for good reasons. Bedrooms and lounges are where carpet still wins on comfort and warmth, and where a wool or wool-rich construction repays the extra outlay over a decade. Hallways and stairs take punishment and reward a heavier specification than most showrooms will steer you toward.
Kitchens, utilities and bathrooms are where hard flooring earns its place. LVT gives the most convincing look and copes well with underfloor heating. Sheet vinyl is more watertight and considerably cheaper. Laminate sits between the two on both price and appearance, and modern water-resistant ranges are far better than their reputation suggests. Every job starts with a free home measure. We come to you, assess the subfloor properly rather than estimating from a sketch, take accurate dimensions and talk through thresholds, door clearances and how flooring will run between rooms. You get a written quote with the fitting, underlay, uplift and disposal itemised, so you can see what you are paying for rather than one figure with everything buried inside it.
Fitting is done by our own employed team, not subcontractors. That is the difference customers notice most, and it is why we can stand behind the work afterwards rather than passing you to someone else.
We have been trading since 1981 and now run four showrooms: Netherfield and Wollaton in Nottingham, Duffield near Belper trading as Meadow Vale Carpets, and Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Market Street, opening in August 2026 as our first Leicestershire showroom. Between them we cover Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and now north-west Leicestershire.
