Carpet Style has traded in Nottingham since 1981. Over forty-five years a business gathers a fair amount of outside verification — approval schemes, buying group membership, council trader vetting, training partnerships and community sponsorship. This page brings it together in one place so you can check any of it for yourself rather than taking our word for it. Each organisation below keeps its own independent record of us, and every link goes straight to it.
Trading Standards Approved Code
We are a full member of the Approved Code Scheme, operated by the Chartered Trading Standards Institute, through the Carpet Foundation Code of Practice. In practice that means a written code covering how we sell to you, deposit protection, a free conciliation service and low-cost independent arbitration if something goes wrong — protections that go beyond what UK law requires on its own. Membership is audited, not bought. You can verify our entry on the CTSI register directly.
Derbyshire Trusted Trader
Our Duffield showroom, Meadow Vale Carpets, is listed on Derbyshire Trusted Trader, the vetting scheme run by Derbyshire County Council Trading Standards. Businesses are checked before they are admitted and monitored on customer feedback afterwards. It is a scheme you cannot pay your way onto. Our full profile, including customer reviews, is on the county council’s own site.
Buying group membership
We are a member of Carpet 1st, one of the largest independent retail buying organisations in the UK, with more than 150 outlets. Membership gives an independent shop the purchasing power of a national chain without losing the things that make an independent worth visiting — impartial advice, flexibility, and someone who will still be here when you come back in ten years.
Training the next generation of fitters
We train our own floorlayers rather than relying on subcontractors. This is our fourth year of taking on apprentices through WEBS Training in Beeston, who wrote about the programme in July 2026 — two apprentices now qualified and more working through their training alongside our experienced fitters. Fitting is where a flooring job is won or lost, so bringing people through properly matters more than it might sound.
In the community
We sponsor Gedling Colliery Cricket Club and Mapperley People, the community news site for Mapperley. Our Duffield showroom is also listed on Amber Valley Info. Independent retail depends on the places it sits in, and that runs both ways.

If you are checking us out before spending money with us — and you should be — and there is something you cannot find, ask. Call in to any of our showrooms in Netherfield, Wollaton or Duffield, or get in touch and we will point you at whatever you need to see.
