Carpet Style started in 1981 as a single shop in Nottingham. Four decades on it is still owned and run by the same family, with Ray and Brad Chilton and Ed Cooke as directors, and it has grown to four showrooms across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.
What has not changed is how the work gets done. Our fitting teams are employed by us rather than subcontracted, so the people who come to your home are our people, trained by us and accountable to us. If something is not right, the same team comes back to put it right. That is a harder way to run a flooring business and it is the reason we are comfortable talking about preparation, subfloors and the things that actually determine whether a floor lasts.
We supply and fit carpets, LVT, laminate, vinyl, engineered wood, beds and rugs. Most of our work still comes from people who used us before, or were told about us by someone who did.
Our original showroom is on Great Northern Way in Netherfield, with a second Nottingham showroom on Russell Drive in Wollaton. In Derbyshire we trade as Meadow Vale Carpets at Duffield, near Belper. In August 2026 we opened our fourth showroom on Market Street in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, our first in Leicestershire.
All four have free parking and none need an appointment. We also cover a good deal of ground between them, from Arnold and Gedling through to Belper, Coalville, Swadlincote and Burton upon Trent, with free home measures and samples brought to you.
We are members of the Carpet Foundation, which runs a Trading Standards approved code of practice, and of the Carpet 1st retail buying group. For commercial and contract work, including tenders and PQQs, you can meet our commercial team.
