Looking for Brockway carpets in Nottingham or Derby? Carpet Style is an authorised Brockway retailer with three showrooms across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire — Netherfield, Wollaton, and Duffield (trading as Meadow Vale Carpets). We supply, sample, measure, and fit the full range of Brockway British wool carpets, with displays in all three showrooms.
All three of our showrooms are listed on Brockway’s official Where to Buy directory at brockway.co.uk. That listing is your guarantee we’re a genuine authorised retailer — not just a shop that happens to sell Brockway through a wholesaler. We’ve been supplying and fitting carpets across the East Midlands for over 40 years, and Brockway has been part of our wool carpet range for most of that time.
Brockway has called itself “the home of wool carpet” for good reason. Established in 1964 and still family-owned, Brockway is one of the last remaining British carpet manufacturers producing premium wool carpet at scale, from their factory in Kidderminster — the historic heart of the UK carpet industry. If British-made matters to you, Brockway is the brand to look at first.
A few things genuinely set Brockway apart:
100% British manufacturing. Every Brockway carpet is made in their own Kidderminster factory by skilled carpet-makers, many of whom are the sons and daughters of previous Brockway employees. That continuity of expertise shows in the finished product — every carpet is hand-finished after it leaves the machine.
British wool sourcing. Brockway’s award-winning Lakeland Herdwick collection uses wool from Cumbrian Herdwick sheep — grown in Cumbria, spun in Yorkshire, crafted in Kidderminster — and helps sustain traditional hill farming. The Rare Breeds range uses naturally-coloured wool from British rare-breed sheep. If you want a carpet with a genuine British provenance story, Brockway have it.
Envirobac eco-friendly backing. Brockway pioneered Envirobac, replacing traditional latex carpet backing with polymer granules. The manufacturing process is effluent-free with no harmful emissions, and the edge trimmings that would otherwise be waste go to John Lewis to be used as underlay. It’s the kind of detail most carpet brands don’t bother with.
Wool’s natural performance. Wool is a natural insulator (warm in winter, cool in summer), naturally water-repellent, naturally stain-resistant, breathable, and biodegradable at end-of-life. A good wool carpet looks better for longer than the equivalent synthetic, and it feels noticeably different underfoot — softer, denser, more substantial.
Brockway produce a focused collection of premium wool carpets across plain, twist, loop, patterned, and herringbone styles. Here’s a guide to the ranges we supply and fit through our Netherfield, Wollaton, and Duffield showrooms.
Lakeland Herdwick is Brockway’s flagship and most-awarded range. Made from 100% British Herdwick wool with a naturally-coloured, unbleached, undyed character, Lakeland Herdwick has a rugged, textured look that suits country properties, period homes, and modern interiors going for a natural-fibre aesthetic. Available across two pile styles, and recently extended with the elegant new Eskdale and Coniston designs.

Rare Breeds (available as Loop and Cut Pile) is another British Wool certified range using naturally-coloured wools from British rare-breed sheep. Warm, neutral shades with subtle character variation that you only get from undyed natural fibres.
Galloway is a super-chunky loop pile carpet made from 4-ply undyed 100% British wool. Soft, sumptuous, and built for that low-key luxury, statement-piece look. One of our most asked-about Brockway ranges in recent years.
Heathcote is a luxurious pure wool collection with two design styles and six contemporary natural colours, available in both 4-metre and 5-metre widths. Hard-wearing enough for any area of the home, but with the look and feel of a more premium product. Particularly popular for whole-floor projects.
Dimensions, Solar, and Orion are Brockway’s mainstream wool-rich twist ranges — the workhorses of the collection. Durable, well-priced for the quality, and available in a wide range of neutral and tonal shades. Ideal for stairs, landings, and main living areas where you want a wool carpet that performs day-in, day-out.
Portofino is Brockway’s stylish striped range — clean, contemporary stripes in wool-rich constructions that work particularly well on stairs and runners.
Velvet and Beachcomber cover two ends of the texture spectrum — Velvet for soft, luxurious, plush feel; Beachcomber for textured, robust, casual character carpets that handle high-traffic areas well.
Herringbone designs are one of Brockway’s newer additions, riding the trend for patterned wool carpet in classic herringbone weaves. We’ve fitted several of these recently across larger Derbyshire homes — the look is exceptional and the durability of wool means it ages gracefully.

With wool carpets, choosing from photos alone is genuinely difficult — the texture, weight, and character of a wool carpet really only comes through in person. The best way to choose Brockway is to come into one of our showrooms, feel the different ranges side by side, and let our team help you narrow it down based on your room, traffic, and budget.
Brockway are premium, well-made products that deserve a well-executed installation. Here’s how we approach it.
Free home measurement. Once you’ve narrowed down a Brockway range you like, we book in a free home measure. We measure properly, check seams, factor in pile direction (particularly important for wool twists and loops), and quote everything up — including underlay, gripper, doorbars, and fitting — so the price you see is the price you pay.
Honest quoting. No high-pressure tactics, no fake discounts. We’re confident on price, and on a like-for-like Brockway quote, we’ll usually be competitive against the volume retailers because we don’t have their overheads.
Preparation and fitting. Wool carpets perform best on a good underlay — we’ll recommend the right one for your floor and traffic. Our employed fitters (not subcontractors) handle the install. Wool carpet fitting is a craft — getting seams right, getting stair installations right, handling pile direction on landings and corners — and our team has the experience to do it well. We also do bound-edge stair runners — a specialist finish that frames a runner with a contrasting tape or fabric binding, which gives a really premium look on traditional and contemporary staircases. Several of the Brockway installs you can see on this page are bound-edge runners fitted by our team.
After-sales. We’re still here if anything’s not right. Same fitters, same showrooms, same phone number. With wool carpets in particular, the occasional pile-flattening or shading mark needs proper advice rather than internet guesswork.
Several retailers in Nottingham and Derby sell Brockway. A few things genuinely set us apart:

Wool carpets are easy to live with — regular vacuuming with a beater-bar brush, prompt attention to spills (blot, don’t rub), and professional cleaning every few years. Brockway carpets are designed to age gracefully — a well-looked-after wool carpet will still look great a decade or more later.
